I admit I am not the most excited fan of Dr. Seuss, though I appreciate some of his books. Having said that, this book is my favourite of his. Written in his usual lighthearted easy rhyme the stories are pleasant to read. They are more coherent than most of his books. They still have some of the silliness that his readers love, but without the pointless surrealism that I find boring.
The stories are moralistic but in the light-handed amusing way that Dr.Seuss is a master of. With his characteristic nonchalant manner he tackles vanity pride and a lust for power in a way that every child can appreciate.
In summary I would say the three stories included in this collection are Dr. Seuss at his best. You might enjoy reading them and appreciate their wholesome moral even if you do not always see the value in his writings. If you are a fan of Dr. Seus (and you are throwing tomatoes at me in your mind right now) even better. These little known stories of his are a real gem!
