A great story about friendship and familial love. This book about a bear and his family (and his friends) shows wonderful moments between the cub and the other characters. We see him camping with his dad and speaking with his mom, as well as playing with his friends. Each of these interactions is full of genuine gentleness and love. It is a great story with great characters.

This is the one and only time when I will also recommend a film. An animation was made of this book called 'The Little Bear Movie' (2001). It is a very enjoyable and wholesome film for children. It brings the book to life. It is well worth reading and watching both of these together. I would watch the film first, and after children will be excited to spend their time with their new friends in the book.
