This is a lovely collection of poems for children. It includes new poetry as well as several 'classics' by big-name poets such as Auden and Lewis Caroll. This is not yet another collection of the well-known nursery rhymes. It is a good introduction to poetry for slightly older children.

The illustrations are also lovely and really brighten up the book. With it's large and well-chosen selection of works, this can easily be 'the one poetry book' that a child owns.
