Of course this book needs to be here. My favourite of Judith Kerr’s storybook. I consider most of her children's books to be ‘almost there’ but not quite; this one on the other hand is a masterpiece. It is a classic for a reason and every house with children should have a copy. The illustrations are beautiful (as in all her books) and they take you back to a previous generation.
